Bill graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. He subsequently attended Duke University School of Law and graduated with honors in the top third of his class.
Bill has over thirty years of experience, including a clerkship with Atlanta bankruptcy judge W.H. Drake, Jr. His prior employment also includes two premier, small bankruptcy firms, where he represented debtors, trustees, creditors, committees, and entities purchasing assets of bankrupt enterprises. For over five years, he was employed by a large Atlanta-based firm, where he gained experience in serving as counsel for persons on the panel of Chapter 7 trustees. He has also practiced in diverse areas of commercial litigation, insurance coverage disputes, and appellate work in both state and federal appeals courts. His bankruptcy-related litigation experience includes litigation in connection with a Chapter 11 case filed by a publicly traded company with multiple subsidiaries. Bill has prepared briefs and handled oral arguments before state and federal appellate courts, and has obtained favorable decisions for his clients in several appeals, including: Club Associates v.
